A Community Standing Together for Women’s Health
The Municipality of Estancia continues to strengthen its commitment to women’s health as it actively participates in the Global Cervical Cancer Elimination Program under Phase 3 of the SUCCESS-FAP Project. The initiative is supported by UNITAID and Expertise France as development partners and is implemented by the Cancer Warriors Foundation, Inc., in close collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) Disease Prevention and Control Bureau – Cancer Control Division, the DOH Center for Health Development (CHD) Region IV, the Iloilo Provincial Health Office, and the Municipal Local Government Units of Carles, Estancia, and Lemery.
Technical advisory and mentoring support for the project are provided by the Technical Advisor to Expertise France (SUCCESS-FAP) and the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC), ensuring quality screening, effective referral systems, and continuity of care.
As one of the selected UUA–GIDA municipalities, Estancia is set to provide free HPV-DNA self-collection testing kits to women aged 30–49, expanding access to life-saving cervical cancer screening for women in remote and underserved communities.
A Prayer Brigade Filled With Purpose and Hope
This afternoon, the Estancia community gathered for a meaningful Global Cervical Cancer Elimination Day Prayer Brigade, offering prayers for health, healing, and protection for women and families. Led by the Municipal Health Office (MHO), the activity highlighted the importance of early detection and proactive prevention of cervical cancer—one of the most preventable yet still deadly cancers affecting women worldwide.
Municipal employees and staff from various departments united in prayer, symbolizing solidarity with women at risk and reaffirming the community’s shared responsibility to promote awareness and early screening through the HPV-DNA self-collection program.
A Community Moving Together Toward Prevention
The Municipal Health Office emphasized that the Prayer Brigade is more than a symbolic activity—it is a call to action. By embracing HPV-DNA self-testing, Estancia promotes a simple, convenient, and highly effective screening method that allows early detection and timely intervention.
With Phase 3 bringing cervical cancer services closer to barangays and households, Estancia is taking concrete steps to protect women’s lives, support families, and strengthen community health systems
Together, We Can End Cervical Cancer
“Ululupod kita sa pagtapna sang Cervical Cancer!” continues to resonate across Estancia—serving as a powerful reminder that eliminating cervical cancer requires unity, compassion, and collective action.
Through prayer, education, and accessible preventive care, Estancia stands as a beacon of hope—helping transform the vision of a cervical cancer-free future into a shared reality for every woman in the community.
