ILOILO PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICE -The Cervical Cancer Elimination Project under SUCCESS FAP (Scale Up Cervical Cancer Elimination through Secondary Strategy with Focus in Asia Pacific) officially begins with a two-day Microplanning Session on December 3–4, 2025, involving the project sites of Carles, Estancia, and Lemery.

Participated in by Municipal Health Officers, Nurse Coordinators, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Punong Barangays, Barangay Health Workers, school representatives, and other local stakeholders, the session aims to craft a comprehensive master plan to guide the project’s local implementation.

The Iloilo Provincial Health Office, together with the Iloilo PDOHO and the Cancer Warriors Foundation, facilitated the activity, supporting the three municipalities in developing effective and responsive plans to ensure that at least 90% of eligible women are reached through life-saving cervical health screening, while those who need treatment are linked to treatment services at all levels of care.

During the session, thermal ablation devices were also formally turned over to the project sites—Carles, received by Mayor Arnold T. Betita II; Estancia, received by Mayor Ma. Angelica Bianca B. Requinto-Espinosa; and Lemery, received by Mayor Oscar C. Villegas Jr. These devices will be utilized in their health centers to treat pre-cancerous lesions as part of the cervical health screening campaign.
